Once again, the Seattle Mariners come from behind to take yet another series, beating the Detroit Tigers 2-1 today.

Gosh these guys are fun to watch this year. Finally after the Griffey hype wore off, the team as a whole is pulling it together. Griffey, is just one of the many great assets the Mariners have this year.

No matter who comes to the plate, I feel like we have a real shot of making things happen.

Go M’s! Let’s at least secure that wildcard. Plenty of games left!!!

M’s fall short in last night’s rally ending a 3 game win streak. Luckily the Seattle Mariners still only remain 2.5 games back from first place in the American League West as the Texas Rangers lose yet another one making that it a 5 game losing streak. Hopefully the Mariners can pull it together tonight – they should – considering they are playing the San Diego Padres with a  losing record of 31 and 38.

A noteworthy stat from last night’s game was Ken Griffey’s Jr’s home run making it the Mariners 5,000th franchise home run. It appears Griffey has retrieved the ball from a generous fan, and returned it to the Mariners for display. Griffey wouldn’t say what he had to give up to get the ball back from the fan, just that fan was reasonable, and would be taken care of for his generosity.

What an outstanding UFC fight this weekend! I couldn’t be happier with the second round knockout of Rashad Evans by Lyoto Machida. I’ve been saying Lyoto Machida is the best pound for pound fighter for years now, and very few agreed. With this knockout victory over undefeated Evans, I wonder what these people are saying now.

I’m really looking forward to “The Uprising” Pro MMA Event coming to the ShoWare Center in Kent this weekend. This is the first major MMA event of it’s kind in this area.  On the main card we have:

Finally some nice Seattle weather today, with temperatures over 70.  But it looks like things will be back to normal for most of the week.

Let’s hope Phil Mickelson can pull it together after missing the cut at the Shell Houston open this past weekend. Mickelson, off a two win streak, and who missed the previous week because he was not feeling well; made a poor return at the Shell Houston open by missing the cut. Now that Tiget is back, and hot, we need someone to regularly give him a run for his money. I was/am hoping this is Phil’s year!

I think my heart skipped a beat watching Tiger sink his 15 foot put on the 72nd hole of Arnold Palmer’s Invitational at Bay Hill. He is so unreal it is ridiculous. Every time he plays, I feel like I am watching the same round of Golf over and over. Going into the final round, Sean had a several shot lead, but ultimately choked shooting a 3 over 73 while Tiger shoots a 67 – 3 under. The next two weeks will be two of the most exciting in Golf this year. With the world’s top two players as hot as they can be; Tiger back, coming off a great win and Phil on a two tournament win streak. Plus all of the worlds best players will be in full force next week at the Shell Houston open getting ready for the following week which is the year’s first major – The Masters Tournament at Augusta. I’ll be watching my favorite Phil Mickelson, who himself is on a two win streak, but was out this week recovering from a virus. Go get’m Phil!

Great news, it has been announced the undefeated Rashad Evans will be defending his light heavyweight title against the undefeated and ever elusive Lyoto Machida.  This is the fight I have been waiting for! Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was scheduled to fight Evans but will be undergoing surgery. I personlly think Machida has a much better chance. Lyoto is my favorite fighter. His is always suprising me with his unique technique and style. Go MACHIDA!
